Virtual Tour

FARMbrew COLUMBUS is a family friendly restaurant featuring handmade and "soon to be" award-winning artisanal non-alcoholic beverages and craft beers. The food created by world renowned chef and Columbus native Daniel Orr will be fresh, local and down to earth— something for everyone with prices for every budget.

Brew Pubs are one of the hottest trends in the food and beverage service industry. There was a time when every community had at least a brewery or two. The current trend started in the Portland, Oregon area and has spread throughout the country. Indiana was once a thriving brewing capital of the USA. Over the past few years it has started to regain its past fame and glory with breweries like Sun King in Indianapolis and BBC and Upland in Bloomington. The combination of great ingredients, great preparation and great food and beverages in a relaxed family environment is something that is needed in town. This is what FARMbrew COLUMBUS will be all about.

On the upper level will be a restaurant featuring a wide variety of gourmet and flat griddle burgers as well as sausages and frankfurters, grilled meats and fish. Orr has created a new version of his acclaimed addictive fries just for this new operation. In addition, a fish sandwich named after this father "Lefty" will be introduced. Desserts will be pies and cheesecakes as well as Zaharako's Ice Cream.

The once cavernous downstairs will hold the brewery, with local brewer Jon Fischer at the helm. Orr and Fischer will create signature beers using as many local ingredients as possible, including homegrown hops. There will be non-alcoholic root beer, ginger beer, and sodas made with local fruit syrups. The downstairs will also feature a 21 and over brew pub and lounge for adult enjoyment, including a pool table and dart boards.

The exterior of FARMbrew Columbus will feature ample seating on enclosed terraces that will encourage folks to sit outside and enjoy the view of the White River and the Red Bridge, as well as the nature that surrounds the building. Chef Orr has worked with local landscape designer Dean Schertz to create special outdoor areas including a white wedding garden for spring and summer receptions and areas for group celebrations with the river and famous architecture of Columbus as a fitting background. There are also plans for creating an edible landscape with fruit and berry trees and bushes, as well as herb gardens and vegetable beds.

Both the interior and exterior of this unique-to-Columbus destination will be magnets for both hometowners and the growing numbers of visitors to our city— warm, inviting spaces perfect for dining, reflecting on the day and relaxing in good company.
